The QLS-4100 Xe colour thermal transfer label printer offers instant, high-speed digital colour label printing to manufacturers who want to print product labels just-in-time, or who want to mass-customize labels for private label customers or distributors. 
This rugged digital colour label printer is designed to quickly print short-runs labels, especially when there is a need to integrate a colour label printer in-line with an automatic label applicator system or when label content includes variable data from enterprise software or databases.
The QLS-4100 Xe is the right choice for manufacturers who want to print labels with colour graphics, barcodes, colour logos, and alphanumeric codes at high-speed, where photo-quality printing is not required. The QLS-4100 Xe digital label printing efficiently produces highly-customized labels in small quantities and eliminates the need to keep pre-printed labels in inventory. The QLS-4100 Xe prints an average of over 3,000 labels an hour in CMYK colour print mode at 300 dpi, and over 7,000 labels an hour in spot colour printing mode (depending on label size). The QLS-4100 Xe prints highly durable labels, and will operate in demanding production environments for many years with only minimal maintenance.

 QLS-4100 Xe Print Technology
The QLS-4100 Xe instantly prints digital labels using a unique colour thermal transfer label printing process.
The QLS-4100 Xe printing process begins when a roll of thermal transfer ribbon is loaded onto each of the QLS-4100 Xe’s four print stations. If CMYK process printing is desired, these stations are loaded with cyan, yellow, magenta, and black ribbons. If spot colour printing is desired, these stations can be loaded with any four spot colour ribbons, including metallic colour ribbons or even a clear ribbon to act as a “protective” overprint.
 A roll of blank thermal transfer label or tag stock is loaded onto the single label supply station. The QLS-4100 Xe can print on either die-cut or continuous label and tag materials.
When the QLS-4100 Xe receives the message to print from a computer, it advances the blank label material while thermal elements on each print station selectively heat areas on the thermal transfer ribbons, transferring heated ink onto the surface of the moving label material as dictated by the content of the digital label file. Printed labels emerge dry, fixed, and completely finished. The QLS-4100 Xe is suitable for either office or industrial environments.

The QLS-4100 Xe is priced at £15,000 GBP and includes Custom QuickLabel® Omni barcode and label creation software, installation, and a one-year on-site maintenance contract.
Outside of the United Kingdom, the QLS-4100 Xe may be priced differently due to import duties, shipping, or installation costs. The QLS-4100 Xe is sold exclusively by QuickLabel Systems in Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the USA. Software
The QLS-4100 Xe comes with a Windows®-compatible driver to allow you to print from virtually any Windows-compatible software. Custom QuickLabel Omni® software is optional.
Custom QuickLabel® Omni software was developed to extend the performance of the QLS-4100 Xe in three ways: first, it provides a simple interface to create label designs, including graphics, barcodes, lot codes, nutrition facts panels, and variable fields; second, it provides advanced options to manage printing of multiple label jobs; and third, its QuickCommand function allows you to integrate your QLS-4100 Xe with your enterprise software by allowing you to extract data from your enterprise software into a Custom QuickLabel Omni label format. Options and Accessories
QuickLabel offers many options and accessory devices for the QLS-4100 Xe, including:

 Print & Peel Workstation: This special configuration of the QLS-4100 Xe is designed to allow the user to print a single label on-demand and to peel the label away from its liner, making the label easy to pick up for hand-apply (manual label application). The Print & Peel Workstation consists of the QLS-4100 Xe label printer, Pullback option, and a powered rewind platform.

Pullback Option: The QLS-4100 Xe natively prints “batches” of labels with a “leader” of blank labels to separate print jobs. Pullback is an optional mechanical accessory that is factory-installed on your QLS-4100 Xe to allow it to print labels in “demand-mode” (without blank labels between print jobs) in addition to batch mode. With Pullback, the QLS-4100 Xe reverses the direction of label handling, literally pulling label material back through its four print stations in order to print on the blank labels between batches. Pullback is typically used when the QLS-4100 Xe prints extremely short-runs of labels.
- RW-2 Label Rewinder: This compact, robust label rewinder winds printed label material onto a roll as the material exits the QLS-4100 Xe. These rolls are then ready to be loaded onto an automatic label applicator or print and apply system.

Tag Cutter: The Tag Cutter automatically cuts non-adhesive tag material to your desired length as continuous, printed tag material exits the QLS-4100 Xe.

Label Cutter-Stacker: The Label Cutter-Stacker cuts printed tag material as it exits the QLS-4100 Xe and conveniently stacks each individual tag onto a tray, adding a flag to separate batches.

Common Uses of the QLS-4100 Xe
Manufacturers and processors who own the QLS-4100 Xe use it to print short-runs of labels that combine visual branding, usually colour logos and product illustrations, and automatic product identification, usually barcodes, lot codes, part numbers, and text, and sometimes incrementing fields, prompted fields, or variable fields linked to databased information.

Many of the hundreds of QLS-4100 Xe printers at work in factories and distribution centers around the world are integrated in-line with packaging systems. Although QuickLabel does not offer integration services, leading companies in the banking, electronics, frozen food, hardware, medical device, snack foods, and tire manufacturing industries have successfully integrated the QLS-4100 Xe into their custom-built packaging systems with the assistance of third-party system integrators.
Custom QuickLabel® Omni, the native labeling software of the QLS-4100 Xe, has a feature called QuickCommand that can receive data from your existing software, allowing you to interface with your enterprise system and print colour labels from the QLS-4100 Xe to any site on your network.

Colour Print and Apply
 If you are looking for a Colour Print & Apply system, you will be pleased to know that the QLS-4100 Xe can be integrated in-line with an automatic applicator to form a true colour label printer-applicator system. Although QuickLabel does not sell the QLS-4100 Xe as a Print & Apply system, it has been successfully incorporated into Print & Apply systems by third-party system integrators around the world, in many different production settings, through the use of the “applicator mode” option offered as a standard function with the QLS-4100 Xe.
